Mailing list for Year 7 – September 2019
We start to accept details onto a mailing list from when children commence Year 5 at primary school. To register your interest, please send the following information in writing via a letter or e-mail to:
c/o Dixons McMillan Academy
Child's full name, date of birth, present school and home address
Name of parent/carer
Address of parent/carer, if different to the child's address
Contact telephone number
On receipt of this information, you will receive a confirmation e-mail or letter advising you that the details have been added to the mailing list. Information about the admissions process will then follow at the end of July 2018 (i.e. the end of Year 5).
Details of our current admissions arrangements are given in the Admissions & Appeals Policy which can be found in the 'Policies' section of our website. Please note that the Policy relates only to the admission year stated on the document and is subject to change in future years.
In-Year admissions (Years 7, 8 and 9)
Dixons McMillan Academy opened in September 2014 and, consequently, only has two year groups at this time.
Should you wish to enquire about vacancies, please send the required information (as specified above), in writing, via a letter or e-mail. You may also wish to include the reasons for applying. A reply will be sent to you to advise what the current situation is.
Where vacancies do occur, replacements are made on a 'like-for-like' basis e.g. with a child of the same ability level. Places are also decided by random allocation (in line with the School Admissions Code) and by applying our admissions criteria (see Admissions & Appeals Policy).
Because we are part of a coordinated admission scheme, you also need to complete an In-Year Application Form for the local authority in order to be eligible for a place if a vacancy occurs.
