Alex started his teaching career at Dixons City Academy in 2010 gaining his PGCE in History, and winning the subject prize for his PGCE course. Alex then went on to teach at St John Fisher Catholic High School in Harrogate, where he went from Teacher of History and Politics to becoming an Attainment Coordinator. Alex has an outstanding record for results at KS4 and KS5 as both a teacher and leader. During his career, Alex has been heavily involved in the CPD programme of the Yorkshire Teaching School Alliance, where he has led CPD on pastoral care for the ITT program and senior teachers, specialising on pastoral systems and the implementation of Educational Research in the classroom.

Alex is a History graduate from Oxford University, with a Masters in International Politics, specialising in Nationalism, from the University of Edinburgh. He has studied a broad range of Historical periods, but specialises in modern economic policy and its broader impacts on society, both nationally and globally. Alex teaches History to A level, and has been involved with subject networks in North Yorkshire. Alex also has extensive experience preparing sixth form students for the Oxbridge application process.
