David Gilderoy

Associate Assistant Vice Principal

Before joining Dixons McMillan Academy, David worked in a number of schools across the North East and North Yorkshire. During this time David completed a Masters in Education, worked as an in-school teaching and learning lead and supported other subject leaders as Religious Studies Trust Leader.

David joined Dixons McMillan Academy in January 2021 as Head of Humanities and Religious Studies. In this role David has supported the development of teaching and learning in the History, Geography and Religious Studies departments. Since taking over as Subject Leader of Religious Studies, David has ensured that every year the department has achieved a positive Progress 8 score from full course full cohort exam entry.

In January 2024 David joined the Senior Leadership Team at Dixons McMillan Academy as Associate Assistant Vice Principal with a focus on the Early Career Framework. David is passionate about supporting early career teachers to maximise their potential in order to support the Dixons mission of challenging educational and social disadvantage in the North.
