The academy is closed to all students on Thursday 5 March and Friday 6 March 2026 due to our Cycle 2 Data and Planning Days. We reopen as usual at the normal time on Monday 9 March 2026. Students should be fully equipped, in full uniform and fully ready to learn.

Bradford Literature Festival 2025

We are incredibly fortunate that the internationally-renowned Bradford Literature Festival is just on our doorstep as a school, and like last year all students in Years 7, 8, and 9 have attended day-long workshops. It was a brilliant event, and a key part of our literacy strategy for students to see the importance of literature and Bradford's key role in literary history.

On Tuesday, Year 8 students went to St George's Hall, and attended the Shaking up Shakespeare event
On Wednesday, Year 9 students went to the University of Bradford and attended an event on The Gothic
On Thursday, Year 7 students went to the newly refurbished Bradford Live and attended an event looking at performance poetry and the power of poems to communicate our identities

Students (and staff) had a great time! A big thank you against to the Festival organisers for inviting us once more.
