Dixons McMillan students visit London

Posted 1st July 2024

Dixons McMillan students were invited to take part in the Citizens UK General Election assembly at Westminster Central Hall, London, on Tuesday of this week as part of our Trust's commitment to civic responsibility. Students and staff from across the Trust attended, along with hearing from Miss Stewart of Dixons Trinity Academy also speak on stage to the whole assembly. Students heard from a number of political party representatives, including the (now) Deputy Prime Minister The Right Honourable Angela Rayner MP.

The aim of this gathering was for Citizens UK representatives to present the manifesto they have created through a campaignof listening to people's opinions and views across the whole of the United Kingdom. Political party representatives then had the opportunity to respond to these ideas before Thursday's election.

It was a fantastic day and a huge well done to Mark Salputra (Y10), Stella Salau-Adetunji & Aaris Khan (Y9) and Jassim Ehtesham (Y8) for taking part in what was a very long day! A big thank you to Miss Gayle for accompanying the students on the trip.
