Ullswater Residential
Posted 2nd February 2024
Year 8 were very lucky this week as students set off to the Lake District for a residential at the Outward Bound Centre at Ullswater. For many students, this was one of their first ever experiences on a school residential away from home.
Students took part in a number of outdoor activities such as: ghyll-scrambling, problem solving, canoeing, the infamous 'jog and dip' (where students jump in the refreshing waters of the lake), night time activities, a campfire and visited the spectacular scenes at Aira Force. All students also at some point in their trip literally climbed a mountain, allowing them to understand what we really mean when we talk about climbing our mountains to university or a real alternative.
Well done to all the students who took part and a big thank you to the Outward Bound team who organised the activities and the Dixons McMillan staff who went too.
