The academy is closed to all students on Thursday 5 March and Friday 6 March 2026 due to our Cycle 2 Data and Planning Days. We reopen as usual at the normal time on Monday 9 March 2026. Students should be fully equipped, in full uniform and fully ready to learn.

Year 10 students visit Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal

All History students at Dixons McMillan Academy have to visit the World Heritage Site of Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal at some point in their studies ready for their examination on local history.

We had some fantastic weather this year as they explored the beautiful setting of the almost-900 year old monastery ruins in the morning followed by lunch and a further exploration of the Aislabie Family's impressive water gardens at Studley Royal in the afternoon.
